Thank you again for registering for the California League of Parks Association (CALPA) conference taking place October 23-26 in Sacramento/Folsom, California. We are so excited to have you join us!

To help YOU get excited, here is the current run down on the conference schedule to help you start planning for everything from important sessions you don't want to miss, to field trips before and after the conference itself.

We would like to share the following more detailed information about the events and activities taking place on Tuesday, October 23, and encourage all conference attendees to participate. Thank you to the California State Railroad Museum Foundation for hosting these events!

3:30 - 4:30 Annual Meeting of CALPA Members - Open to all East Theatre - California State Railroad Museum

Updates on CALPA/PLA Membership Featuring Dan Puskar, Executive Director of PLA and Cheryl Marcell, President CALPA

4:30 - 5:30 All Aboard! Heritage Train Ride with Wine/Cheese - Opening Reception Part I Sacramento Southern Railroad

5:30 - 6:00 Uber/Lyft/Taxi or short 10 Minute Walk to Stanford Mansion

6:00 - 7:30 Opening Reception - Part II

Historic Stanford Mansion - 800 N Street, Sacramento

Enjoy Hearty Appetizers with Hosted Beer and Wine at the Historic Stanford Mansion. The Mansion was built in 1856 and served as the office of three governors during the turbulent 1860s. California State Parks acquired it in 1978 and it has undergone a 14-year, $22 million restoration/rehabilitation.

Insider Tip: Leave your cars behind in Folsom and use public transportation! Lake Natoma Inn offers free parking for hotel guests, and light rail is located across the street. In Folsom purchase a $7 daily pass on Regional Transit and take the Gold from the Historic Folsom Light Rail stop all the way into downtown Sacramento to the Sacramento Valley Station. The trains leave every¬Ĺ hour and please plan on a 1-hour ride.

October 23: CALPA Member and Board Meetings and Reception at California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento.

October 24-25: Two days of keynote speakers, training programs, hands on workshops and trade show at Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom, CA

October 26: Optional field trips to local State Parks nearby.
